Children's Needs
At Voices For Children Foundation, Inc. our Children’s Needs Program and its collective work continues to address the most pressing children’s needs, in large part due to many children struggling to catch up in school and families experiencing worse economic conditions due to inflation and increasing housing costs. These circumstances heighten the risk of potential and severe disruptions to child placements, emphasizing the crucial need for prompt and effective action.
Achievements in 2022-2023 include:
- A total of 858 unduplicated dependent children of all ages received direct financial assistance for basic needs including food, rent, utilities, clothing/shoes, medical expenses, furniture, and transportation as documented by CN Program Request & Disbursement Forms
- 451 children and families received direct financial assistance to help with food, clothing, housing, and other pressing needs.
Basic Needs
The most basic human survival needs include food, shelter and clothing. Through the support of our donors, Voices For Children is able to provide children in foster care and their caregivers the critical resources they need to feel safe and secure. Basic needs include: rental assistance for housing insecurities, food assistance, clothing assistance, transportation assistance, personal hygiene need and medical, social, and education support.
Example of Impact
Children who come into foster care receive a transition kit of toiletries, a pillow, and other age appropriate basic needs to help lessen the trauma of coming into foster care. Donate Now!
Dignity Items
Every child deserves access to essential dignity items that provide our children in foster care with the basic necessities to hold their head high, develop a healthier self-esteem, and build their confidence as adolescents during this difficult time. Dignity items include: birthday gifts, backpacks, new shoes, gifts for the holidays, school uniforms, bikes and laptops and more.

Experiences
Our childhood is made up of little moments that collectively allow us to expand our horizons. Voices For Children helps to facilitate memory making experiences that deliver a sense of normalcy and an opportunity for children in foster care to dream beyond their circumstances. Experiences include: birthday parties, summer camp, class trips, family vacations, special events, prom, and college tours.
