Voices to host National CASA’s The Forgotten Children Campaign, followed by A Children’s Celebration

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Voices For Children is proud to host National CASA’s The Forgotten Children Campaign. Endorsed by Dr. Phil and Cold Case’s Danny Pino, this event is designed to draw awareness and support to those who are “lost and forgotten” within America’s foster care system. There are 850 children entering an intimidating and unfamiliar foster care system every single day in the United States. In honor of these children, there will be 800 life-sized cut-outs of children available for sponsorship, each displaying a real message from foster youth currently in the system. On September 12th, our community will show support for these children by attending a public march holding these 800 cut-outs that will remain on display at Bayfront Park.

This landmark event will be followed by Voices’ A Children’s Celebration, featuring entertainment by Radio Disney! This free public event aims to raise awareness of the experiences of foster youth through their own creative works, which will be on display and available for auction. Come out and enjoy numerous fun activities for the whole family while showing your support for one of the foremost causes in Miami-Dade County!

Individuals who would like to sponsor a life-sized cut-out for $250 should call Paula Vargas at 305.324.5678 or email pvargas@voices4.org

Numerous opportunities for event sponsorship are also available. Organizations, child charities, schools, businesses, and political leaders interested in becoming involved should contact Tania Rodriguez at 305.324.5678 or trodriguez@voices4.org.
